Americans Buried With Honors At Swiss Cemetery
In Munsingen Switzerland twelve American airmen killed in action were buried with military honors at a U S cemetery near a Protestant church. A rifle platoon of Swiss soldiers fired volleys as Swiss bands played and diplomats attended. Wreaths were laid by U S and allied officers including General Legge and by a delegation from Swiss air defenses. The service opened with an invocation by Tracy Strong Jr and concluded with taps. The ceremony marked the ongoing tally of fallen American aviators buried abroad.
