W A Doc Scholl faces a May 2 Comal county grand jury on bribery charges linked to a Las Hing case. He posted a $2000 bond with O A Stratemann and H Kraft after an examining trial. Witness E O Smith testified of a bribe plan, private investigators, and a recording device. Scholl’s attorney argued lack of corroboration.
Maya club members protested the use of the Haymarket and Washington area for Fiesta carnival events.
