Food in Army Under Fire From Soldier Censorship
A mother reveals a letter from her son, Cpl. Beryle W. Johnson, an airplane mechanic overseas, alleging Army meals are unpalatable and sometimes scarce. He describes bully beef, pancakes, dehydrated foods, and periods with fresh meat, eggs, and fruit, noting censorship approved publication. He laments shortages while praising occasional improvements.

Britons Deny FDR Churchill to Meet
Well informed Londoners said no new Roosevelt Churchill meeting has been arranged and such sessions seem unlikely until Edward R. Stettinius Jr returns to Washington to report. A later meeting of the president and prime minister, perhaps with Stalin, is viewed as a distinct possibility.
