Twelve survivors of fire steamer picked up near Tampico harbor
Tampico Mexico April 19 Captain Corry and eleven seamen of the Fire Steamer Colonel Bowie were rescued eight miles south of Tampico by the tug Bonita after adrift on a raft for over 30 hours. One body and six missing crew remained. Storm heavy seas broke engines and forced abandonment. three men were found clinging to wreckage by the Norwegian steamer Cissy.

Officials expect a quick resumption as chambers of commerce urge reversal and note the service boosted local business and telegraph ease. The station handled about 600 messages daily and was climbing toward 1000.

First Shipment of Texas Tomatoes Sets New Price Record
