Kennedy High Students Donate to Edgewood Motorcade
Kennedy High School student council in Edgewood contributes 100 to Edgewood Concerned Parents Organization to fund a motorcade to Austin highlighting the call for equal educational funding. The People’s Lobby for Equal Education is backed by the Edgewood board. About 1.6 million has been raised to date for buses to transport parents teachers and students to the rally. A benefit dance is planned at Memorial High and a rock concert on April 29 at Edgewood Stadium to bolster support.

Harlandale Board explores YMCA recreation facility proposal
The Harlandale School District board negotiates with the YMCA to establish a recreation center with a pool on district property in Kingsborough. U S Rep Gonzalez said the Office of Education would send checks to schools immediately under a plan that designates “A” and “B” students for federal aid. Four million in impact school aid was founded by President. San Antonio districts will share funds with San Antonio and Northside getting 1.1 million each.
