Permanent organization of the National Conference of State Supervisors and Inspectors of Rural Schools was expected at the close of a four day meeting in Louisville. The 1915 annual meeting likely in Cincinnati. Twenty seven states represented. aims include improving rural schools through state supervision. Officers elected include President J. H. Binford Richmond, Va and President W. E. Larson Wisconsin with secretary Lester B. (name cut).

In Dallas on April 10 a grand jury investigated alleged violations of the nine hour day for women. About two dozen women were summoned to appear while Labor Inspector B. J. Flood led the inquiry, following a similar probe in Fort Worth.
Newport News Va April 10 Prof Henry H Savage formerly of Liberty Missouri head of the Hampton Woman's Club near the city ended his life by shooting himself today.

About 165000 of 250000 dollars in stock has been subscribed. Construction will start after full financing and bond underwrite. William Ek. Ewing of 324 West Craig Place is named heir to a fortune estimated at 5 060 000 from his deceased father Nathaniel Ewing of Uniontown Pennsylvania. The will filed for probate directs several charitable bequests and leaves the residue to the son. Ewing has lived in San Antonio after Princeton and may base his future residence on his Pennsylvania interests.
In Austin on April 10 officials report most life and fire insurers have filed annual statements and been relicensed, but few fraternal organizations have complied with the insurance law provision. No penalties exist for fraternal noncompliance. about 150 fraternals operate in the state.
Weather is unsettled with cloudy skies and possible showers in the next day or two. Forecast notes two storm areas: one over the Red River region and another over the Rocky Mountains and Utah, bringing rains in the south and snow in the north.
