Slaying of Wife and Baby Probed in Florida
New evidence described as recriminating was presented today to a special grand jury investigating the deaths of William Randolph Carver's wife and seven year old son in Beering Florida. Carver, a former Philadelphia real estate man, is jailed on charges of killing his wife and son with an ax and of shooting the yardman, Ben Whitehead. Witnesses testified to bloodstains on Carver's clothing and a wet shirt, while an insurance policy naming Carver as beneficiary spurred a new coroner verdict. The grand jury was urged to continue probing the case.
