Fifteen hundred citizens obtained receipts by 10:30 this morning, none found later in the collector's office. The auditor's office is awaiting transfer orders while deputies may move more receipts. Meanwhile May collections remain unreported and Villemain foresees filing by next Saturday as dog licenses surge with 267 slips issued in the past nine days.
Guy Haltom and Miss Kade Krause eloped en route to the Henning Haltom wedding in a Catholic ceremony at St Marys. The couple wed with family present and plan a six week California trip before returning to Flatonia Texas.

Bertha Obert a resident of 1419 Avenue B told Light and Gazette reporters she shot Sarah Littlefield after the woman entered her home, cursed and slapped her, then tried to take a dress sacque. Obert fired once from a .38 revolver, killing Littlefield at 1 30 pm outside her house. She notified neighbors to call police.
John Lawrence a 47 year old pioneer San Antonio resident died after a long career in railroad shops with a steel fragment in his arm for 11 years. He suffered a head and spine injury at work a month ago and had mind impairment since then. Funeral plans set from 724 Lamar street with Knights of Pythias and Elks Lodge No 35 involvement. He leaves a wife two children and a sister in New Braunfels.
