A 16 year old bride, just days married, was found on Soledad street with her husband and companions after scrawling to her father to rescue her. She pleaded to be taken away, saying she would die if left there, as deputies gathered the party and emptied bottles were found. No charges were filed.
About thirteen people are known dead and fifty believed injured when a boiler explodes at the Morewood Ice company plant by Morewood Lake near Pittsfield Massachusetts. Victims include Italian and Polish workers. engineer Wm Dunn and another employee Edgar Allen are among the dead. One body was buried 150 feet from the blast and another 100 feet.
The grand jury indicted Jos G Robin for larceny of 80,000 from the Northern Bank of New York, connected to the bank’s closing after recent transactions. Former district attorney Jerome said Robin’s mental and physical condition is doubtful and requested two detectives be sent to his home to place him under arrest. Bail was set at 25,000 and arraignment postponed to tomorrow pending medical evaluation.
At a National Union conference in London the Countess of Russell pressed church and state cooperation to overhaul marriage rules. She argued the church must address root causes of epileptic births and that marriages considered to be shameful should be halted.

The room will feature a T shaped table with moss autumn leaves Christmas bells and a Christmas tree centerpiece. In Hot Springs Arkansas additional witnesses testified today as the coroner’s jury investigates Oscar Chitwood’s death claimed to have been caused by a mob. The jury’s verdict will not be announced until those responsible are arrested.
A heavy frost is forecast for all North and West Texas with a rapid temperature drop after dusk. Thermometers may fall to 15 or 20 degrees above zero, and light snows are reported in many Panhandle points. Deputy Sheriff Hardy Hinton arrested Ben Murray and John Rutherford in Hot Springs suburbs on coroner's jury orders to hold them in connection with the killing of Oscar Chitwood last Monday morning. Sheriff Houpt accompanied them and they head to Little Rock for penitentiary placement. No charges yet, but ordered held for safe keeping.

Dr Frederick A Cook, famed Arctic traveler, accepted an invitation to speak in Des Moines in February under the Press club of Des Moines. Proceeds from the lecture will be donated to charity.

Mary Harris an 18 year old white girl rescued from Japanese captors on Christmas Day was committed to the state hospital for the insane by a lunacy commission in the superior court. She had vanished months earlier and was held in a hotel prison. After reaching a telephone she urged police to aid her rescue. Police found her in a small black room in a drugged and beaten condition.
