A committee of business men proposes forming a construction company with at least 600000 in capital to build a railroad from the city to the Rio Grande valley. A 3 PM Chamber of Commerce meeting will hear the report and discuss subscriptions of land and right of way, aiming for about one million dollars in total funding.
H M Clapp, grandson of the shoeblacking king Mason Clapp, remained in serious condition but is expected to recover from wounds. His wife Marie Clapp, held on bail after she said she shot him during a struggle over a revolver, was released and claims the shooting was accidental.

Deputy Will A Tomlinson was stabbed in the back by a newsboy amid a crowd on Losoya street near Crockett. The blade penetrated about an inch but spared the spinal column by a narrow margin. The assailant fled across Crockett street into a river, was chased by the deputy, and disappeared into an alley. The wound was treated at the opera house dressing room and deemed not seriously harmful.
Mrs Hugo Nugent Fitzgerald wife of H N Fitz gerald managing editor of the Dallas Times Herald and publisher of the Dallas Beau Monde died in a Dallas sanitarium after an operation yesterday. She was 51 and a native of Iowa. George Thomas traveling passenger agent for the Chicago and Alton with Dallas HQ is in the city on business.
El Paso Texas December 13 reports say Captain J Hk Hughes of the Ysleta Ranger Company responds to an Austin order to join a sheriff’s posse at Marfa to defend Texas property as Mexican revolutionists near the Ojinaga region raise fears. The company will aid local efforts and remains alert to potential cross-border attacks.
Roberto Guillen was bound over to the grand jury after waiving examination in Justice Ben Fisk's court. He allegedly entered J F Keen's saloon at Leona and Matamoros and stole seventeen bottles of beer, later arrested following a suspicious package report.

Fort Worth Texas December 13 Secretary Gibbs of the Texas Grain Dealers association says recent rains will lift the state crop yield by about fifty percent with an estimated 1,300,000 bushels for 191. Secretary Spiller of the Texas Cattle Raisers association notes the rain ends a long dry spell and will avert heavy losses for cattlemen.
In Muskogee Oklahoma on December 13 Robert L Owen's wife was jailed briefly after the jailer, distracted by absence, locked her in. She had gone to check on a girl she is interested in and was released after her entrapment was noticed and efforts secured her release.
Special Dispatch from Brownsville Texas reports four people injured in a derailment on the Mexican National line near Reynosa. The train, due at Matamoros at 7 30, went off the track yesterday afternoon and no further details were available.
