Washington March 20 One of the first acts of the Republican Congress will be to adopt the Susan B Anthony nationwide women’s suffrage amendment resolution Senator Curtis of Kansas Republican whip said the suffrage resolution defeated by the last Congress would be re introduced on the first day of the next session The new Senate suffrage committee headed by Senator Hiram Johnson stands ready to make a report immediately It is expected the Senate may adopt the resolution within a week after re convening Curtis predicted the vote would be favorable by one or two but did not detail future considerations If Southern Democratic senators try to block it rule under the cloture proposal may be invoked limiting each senator to one hour’s debate The file has never been used but may be again by those instrumental in its adoption The House situation is continued on page three
