Ruth Holmes Found With Berry Lyons Near Salado

An 11 year old Ruth Holmes, daughter of Mr and Mrs A W Holmes of 1035 Denver Boulevard, was found Thursday night with an elderly janitor after an extensive search. Detectives Kerry and Lyons located them in a camp in a pasture along the Salado about seven miles east of San Antonio. The janitor denies involvement. The girl said the man lured her away with a trip for other children, took her to Denver Helzets Park, then toward the Salado before being found. The father retained counsel and a prosecution may follow.

Soldier Robbed by Masked Men Near Maverick and West Laurel

PF R oig a soldier of the 2 Supply Train at Camp Travis was robbed of $9 by two highway men near Maverick and West Laurel Streets. He described two assailants wearing black caps who struck him and escaped with the money. The incident occurred around 2 AM and the victim arrived at the Main Avenue and Romana Street fire station about 40 minutes later. No arrests have been made.

From Torreon Chihuahua Aug 13 night rumors spread of a possible surrender and demobilization of Francisco Villa and his army. Disarmament at Tlahualilo Durango is postponed for a week as Gen Eugenio Martinez and a government rep return to Mexico City to confer with President De la Huerta. Unidentified man found in lake with multiple wounds

A well dressed unidentified man was found ashore in Lake Michigan near Eighth Street with throat cut ear to ear and four knife wounds. Police believe the body was dressed after stabbing and note jewelry and a strong amount of money on the person.

Cox Pledges World Peace if Victorious in WV Speech
