Herman W. Carty district manager of Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone died last night from self inflicted gunshot wounds after a nervous breakdown. He had driven to Snow Hill with his wife and son to visit friends, returned home ill with a headache, and shot himself in the bathroom. A coroner’s inquest was deemed unnecessary. He had served twenty five years with the company and was active in Salisbury community affairs.
