Eugene Harry Gordy a longtime NYP&N rail employee was struck by an express train while riding a speeder two miles north of Charles City near Cape Cheries. He died at once and burial is planned in this city. Gordy’s property on Meum Hermen road was condemned earlier that day by a jury with a one cent award. He is survived by a wife and five children and a large extended family. Engineer Oscar Brown was operating the speeding train.
