Four Prisoners Escape Denton Jail In Car Chase
Four inmates two white and two colored escaped from Denton Maryland jail with aid from a 12 year old trusted boy. They fled in a car through the Eastern Shore, pursued by Maryland and Delaware authorities across two states. Two were captured near Wilmington ten miles north of Denton and six miles below Denton in Tuckahoe neck. others sought to cross into Delaware as state police joined the hunt. The trusty youth received a dollar for the wrench used to loosen the jail windows and will be sent to the reform school.
