The Ring of Tempting Voices and a Family Legacy
A London ring owned by Mr. Temple, nephew of Sir Richard Temple, contains a miniature music box that sings when touched. Its tale recalls a French ancestor who died at the guillotine after loyally backing Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. The ring later returned to the Temples after a Geneva-made grandfathership, and a jeweler removed a blood clot found in its mechanism, reviving its tune. Also includes praise for DeWitt's Witch Hazel Salve by Roanoke, Tenn. resident J. C. Kennedy.
