Landmark Salem building on Clay Street razed by workmen
Workmen have torn down the former J. W. Harveycutter and Son's Livery on Clay Street. The landmark, built by the Confederate government early in the Civil War, served as a slaughter house and supply depot for the army. After the war it passed to J. W. Harveycutter and is now owned by his son, W. W. Harveycutter.

Bass Stock Roanoke River Prompts Angling Growth in County
