Roanoke College Hosts Extended Commencement Program
Roanoke College plans a strong commencement week starting Sunday with an 11 o’clock morning service in the tabernacle. Rev. Prof. David H. Baustin will preach the baccalaureate, with a large chorus and student singers providing music. Evening services feature addresses by Rev. J. S. Simon and the dean of American educators, Hon. Elmer Elsworth Brown. The program includes morning and evening musical selections, a Monday morning field events, literary society addresses, a god medal oratory contest, alumni activities, and a graduating class listing of twenty six seniors with several special speakers. The college band Horoyd’s orchestra will perform at multiple events and a promenade concert will cap the festivities.

Two Bodies Found Near Seven Pines
Two browned bodies buried near the National cemetery were found by Alexander Brown while plowing. A shattered bottle with a possible name, brass Confederate buttons, and a Union rifle ball suggest Confederate soldiers. Superintendent Callaghan believes they were Confederates and notified local Confederate camps.

A social week highlight was a reception given by Miss Essie Denit for Miss Roberta Andrew of Falls Church Virginia on Thursday night from eight to eleven.
