Meetings Prove No Quorum for City Hall Talks

City council sessions over two nights failed to reach a quorum as Mayor King Connell Lindquist Peterson and Thompson attempted to select a successor to D Jedwards. An adjournment followed each night with Leggett finally joining for a legitimate quorum on the next evening. Meanwhile Humphrey Jones 74 was fatally hurt near Oregon City after a crossing incident with a Southern Pacific train. his daughter and her friend survived with injuries as Mrs Evans tended him in Portland Hospital.

Infant Daughter of Carter Family Dies in August

Bessie, infant daughter of Mr and Mrs F J Carter, died after a brief illness on Thursday. The funeral was held Friday September 1 with interment at Columbia Cemetery.
