Portland Council Eyes Street Work And City Improvements
Portland council opened with Mayor King and full membership as plans moved to grade and pave John street from Jersey to Modoc. City Engineer Goodrich presented street improvement notes and a request to secure a steam roller, while dock use for gravel was approved with contractor safeguards. An ordinance to number businesses and residences on a block system was set for next meeting.
