His business has steadily increased since he became proprietor and he keeps the best meats. He is an active advertiser and supports his home paper. A Halloween party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. tt Dorrie in Paine View featured evergreen and jack o lantern decorations. Prizes went to H. Hewitt and Mra. B. R. Metinney for an amusing guessing game and guests formed a whistling band after surprise packs were opened.
J P Wrinkle holds major stock in Owens Lake soda works the largest soda company. They refused 225000 for a halt interest and extract crude soda from the lake by evaporation. They produce bicarbonate soda soda ash washing powder and caustic soda with a process yielding about 20 percent annual return on capital stock.
The Oregon Society of the Sons of the Revolution invites high school orphans and grade pupils to submit essays on topics from the Revolutionary era. Prizes include 20 and 14 dollars for higher grades and 3 to 5 dollar awards for younger entrants. Entries must be mailed to B A Taxter in Portland by January 31, 190%.
P.M. Hart has sold his photograph gallery on St Johns Street to McDafrold and Bell. The new owners arrive from London Ontario and another from nearby, taking possession at once to continue the high class work. Mrs Weeks and Mrs Flattner read Denver convention notes. Mrs Perkins sang. discussion touched on gravity to animate and local laws. Knights and Pythian Sisters plan a major home talent show in three days.
