Our Ball Club Wins and Loses at Home on Sunday
Our ball club played two Sunday games at home, defeating St Johns in the morning and losing to Rowanna Portland in the afternoon. The morning lineup featured Peterson catcher Rodgers, FP Loy pitcher, with Talbot and Talbot in infield, Loveday and DeTemple in the outfield, and Gardner as umpire. Portland won 20 to 18 in a close ninth inning, aided by strong batting from Scales, Ley, Adam, and Poll, and by a suddenly improved Portland squad mixed with St Johns players.
