Council Meets In Regular Session St Johns Plans Reviewed

The council met with Mayor Bredeson presiding to review Portland Library plans for a new St Johns building ready for occupancy by fall. Discussion over a $300 rear lot strip price on Wil lamette boulevard led to an offered $200 instead. Requests to advance $150 for Willamette boulevard defense were deferred a week. Paint for seen deck was approved at 55 cents per gallon with two local workers, and a side track ordinance for O W & N Co. was held over for attorney review.

Municipal railway idea links riverfront to Jersey Street

Knights of Pythias install officers in public event

St Johns Notice Highlights Bonds and Local Baseball Plans

Willamette Boulevard grade changes approved in St Johns

The city council of St Johns adopts a resolution to change the grade on Willamette Boulevard from Richmond to Burlington streets. It specifies established and proposed elevations at Charleston John Leavitt and Burlington cross streets, with center and side elevations, and notes plans on file with the city recorder, approved under city charter. Madison Street Mad Dog Killed By Officials

A mad dog was killed Friday night at 611 East Charleston Street by May or Bredeson and Chief of Police Allen. Miss Damon, owner, left for Portland with the dog ill in the house. The dog, frothing and head movements, was shot after gaining entry with a key found nearby. City Council later directed the attorney to draft an ordinance requiring dog muzzling in July and August, effective after the next evening.
