Portland Lineman Edwin Laxton Killed By Wires
Edwin Laxton a 35 year old Portland lineman with the Fire Alarm company died after shorting between a live Portland General wire and a home line at First and Taylor streets. He left a widow and four children ill with measles, living in destitution on East Richmond street. Witnesses and Portland General workers cut him free and rushed him to Holman parlors where he died en route.
