Sailor Olson Dies After Fall From Wharf
Ole Anton Olson, 46, a sailor on the four masted Alpena, fell thirty feet from the St Johns Lumber Co dock to the ship while intoxicated. He died at the scene. Olson, an unmarried coastwise seaman for years, had returned to Portland with companions before the fall. The coroner ruled drink caused the death.

Man Maimed as Streetcar Strikes Pedestrian at Willamette Heights
R H Keogan of St Johns was left with a mangled left leg and a crushed right foot after being struck by a westbound streetcar while crossing the track near Willamette Heights. He was taken to Good Sanoritum hospital where surgeons amputated the right foot. doctors hope the left leg can be saved. Keogan, employed by Safe Peace Co, is married and has lived in St Johns over two years.
