Birthday Surprise for Paul Rood on Eighteenth Birthday
A party of 66 young people surprised Paul Rood on his eighteenth birthday at his home last Thursday. Mr Hedeen and Miss Johnson performed a duet and a short program delighted guests while cousins Miss Minniead and Frank Lunt visited. Paul received a fountain pen and bouquets as the celebration closed with games and good wishes for a long, successful future.

Basket Dinner Sunday Outing For Christian Church
The Christian church plans a Sunday basket dinner leaving Bickner's hall at 9 30 a m for an outing in the hills across the river by ferry. Members and friends, bring dinners and children to join in a simple basket meal, return in time for the C H union service in the evening. Hart family farm sale leads to new Oregon land purchase
M Hart formerly of Hood River who sold half of a 20 acre farm and moved to Springs field Oregon bought 340 acres of good farming land near that peel. Mrs Hart had cancer for years and was cured after Dr O Keefe of Portland removed the cancer in six weeks and grafted skin to heal the wound. The operation occurred at the home of W K E Godsey, a grandson of Mr and Mrs Hart.
