Overhead Crossing Planned for Portland Grain Docks Access
Public Service Commission orders an overhead crossing over the Oregon–Washington Railroad at Howd No 744 in Multnomah County to serve Kellogg street extension from St Johns. It will provide access to new grain elevators and docks and is estimated to cost 3520 dollars. The plan may allow closing a nearby private grade crossing and diverting traffic to the new overpass.

The bet, to be settled by the Emergency Fleet Corporation, runs to October 61 1018. A Seattle official is asked to locate local yards likely to join the challenge as the Grant Smith Porter firm leads Pacific Coast hull production with ships Waaco Biloxi Rasots Blanc don and Boiveton launched in February and March this year.

Raymond Bredeen was elected chair man with Mabel Smock Marie Hein and Mabel Colgan as clerks. Interclass basketball opened with seniors defeating fourth termers 10 to 1 and juniors beating second termers 11 to 1. A student body meeting discussed designs for the standardized ring and pin. Opal Weimer and Willis Vinson presented four designs. the Arrow head, the block double J, the seal double J, and the conventional design. The official James John pin was chosen for four years.
