Chapple Wins Free Trip To 4-H Congress
Richard Chapple a 17 year old senior at Francis Howell High School is among six Missouri 4-H members awarded expense paid trips to the National 4-H Congress in Chicago from November 28 to December 2. Chapple son of Mr and Mrs Richard Chapple Route 2 St Charles earned the trip for his outstanding 4-H woodworking record including an executive desk with roll drawers and cherry wood pieces. Brenda Vahle of Warrenton and Vivian Bauer of Silex also earned trips for their 4-H achievements.

New Home Supply Center Grand Opening This Thursday
Charles new Home Supply Center opens Thursday at 2000 First Capitol Drive in St. Charles on the former Kroger site. The 15000 square foot store offers hardware tools outdoor and garden supplies paint lumber plumbing electrical and more with a home decorating center and interior decorator on site. Grand Opening festivities run through Nov 3 with demonstrations by industry reps and a parking lot truck sale. Prize drawings will be held Oct 23 at 6 p.m. with winners notified if not present.

Jefferson Women Meet Tuesday at Oelklaus Home
The Jefferson Women Club holds a regular meeting this Tuesday at Mrs. Walter Oelklaus’s home 13 Cedar Court. A covered dish supper begins at 6 30 p m with a white elephant sale gift request and several office holders expected to attend.
