The St Louis Post Dispatch notes St Charles will restore Missouri’s first state capitol on South Main. The effort gains support from an Attorney General Norman H. Anderson ruling aiding the project.
In St Charles the J C Penney store manager Bob Calvin instructs four H clothing leaders on consumer education. The program supports adult leaders working with youth in the Penny Store effort to back a special zoning plan to preserve the town's early Missouri river town charm and authenticity.
The St Charles Souncy Historical Society holds its regular quarterly meeting at St Peters Church Cafeteria in St Charles on Thursday evening October 2 with dinner at 6 30 pm. Tickets are 2 00. reservations due by October 19. Ryne Stregemeier will present slides of early St Charles photographs including works by R Dolph Goebel.
The Ste Cheries Jaycee Wives host a benefit party at 120 Jetterach Street at 7 30 PM to raise funds for welfare projects. Mrs Fay Rogers represents the group and will demonstrate toys with prizes for attendees. Catalogs and toy orders available by contacting Mrs Joan Hawking.
