The St Charles County Tuberculosis Association arranges a mobile chest x ray survey from October 17 to 27 at multiple county sites. Adults and schoolchildren pay a nominal fee. results include notices by mail or sealed letter for positive findings.
A conservation scenic tour covers about 76 miles with 18% driving time. Starting in St Charles, the route passes sites highlighting conservation practices at Hemsath Brothers lake, Dr Berdeau’s lake, Carl Grimm’s cattle yards, Brassel Brothers water ways, Kennels, and a Conservation Wildlife Show near mile 18.
Walter Diekamp Jr., Route 3, St. Charles, Missouri, will receive the Future Farmers of America American Farmer degree at the 40th National Convention in Kansas City. The award honors his record in agriculture and follows twelve Missouri recipients named at the convention. The presentation date is October 1. Continued on Page TE.

With the 1947 World Series in St Louis this weekend hundreds of applicants from St Charles sought tickets but none secured a favored draw. Reports indicate box seat holders or those with close contact to Augier Busch or his distributors had the best chance, while most fans were left out.
The St. Charles County Library and Kathryn Linnemann Library sign an October 1 agreement allowing all residents to use either library. National 4-H Week runs September 30 to October 6, promoting joining 4-H for boys and girls ages 9 to 16 with diverse projects and hands on learning across Missouri and the nation.
New YMCA sub committee chairs were named at a September meeting held September 28 at an elementary school in St. Peters. Mrs Richard Berg of B Charles is named chair of the program committee while Fred Pilinski will head the Y Indian Guides. A meeting for St Charles Francis Howell and O Kenny districts is set for October in St Charles with further meetings in O Fallon St Peters and O’Fallon areas.
