Rodeo Opens Season at St Charles Fairgrounds

The first Mayet rodeo of the season at St Charles Crumy Fairgrounds runs Friday and Saturday May 2 and 3 under the St Thar les Jumict Chareter of Commerce. Pro riders from across the country compete for cash prizes and national rodeo championships. Events include bareback riding roping steer wrestling saddle bronc and bull riding plus a barrel race for Techies. Friday features tech try. Saturday hosts a 4-H barbecue. Admission is 1.50 for adults or two children under 44. In case of rain the show may be postponed to Sunday May 30.

Springview Baptist Church Opens in Welden Springs

Springview Baptist Church in Welden Springs held its first services May 2 after remodeling a former store near Highway 40. Attendance was 25 in the morning and 24 in the evening. Weekly services include Sunday School 9:30, Morning Worship 10:30, Evening Worship 7:00, and Prayer Meeting Wednesday 7:00. The church is linked to Lackland Ros Baptist Church of Overland Missouri and the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches.

St Charles County Library Extends Hours at Trip Shop Center

Rising circulation and demand lead St Charles County Library to add new hours at 1900 Merrill Drive Trip Shopping Center. Beginning Wednesday June 2 the library will open Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays 6 PM to 1 AM and Saturdays 9 AM to 12 PM in addition to the 8 AM to 5 PM schedule. Reverend Lon K Wereingy and family reside near Welden Springs. Rev Reising hails from St Louis County and is Cedarville Baptist College educated. All visitors are welcome.
