Crop Profit Competition Now Open in 1970 Contests
Jules Willett announces the 1970 corn and soybean profit contests for upland and bottomland. Entry forms are available from committee members and farm suppliers. 1969 winners included Fred Willbrand for bottomland corn with $70.57 per acre, just ahead of Roland Meyer and Ralph Wiesehan. Upland winner Erwin Ellerbeck earned near $40 per acre despite poor weather, with lower harvested plant population and similar cost-saving fertilizer strategies.
