Wentzville May 19 Levy Vote Seeks Higher School Tax
Wentzville voters face a May 19 election on a new operating levy set at 5.96 per 100 assessed value, 37 cents higher than previously rejected proposals. If approved, the district would have the highest tax levy in St. Charles County for 1970 71, with classes starting August 31 and no bond funding.

Reduction At Francis Howell School District Levy Vote
Voters in the Francis Howell School District head to the polls Tuesday to decide on a total 4.90 tax levy a 8 cent reduction from last year. The ballot breaks down as 2.74 for the voter portion 1.25 from the State constitution and 0.91 for debt service to cover bond principal and interest. If defeated the levy must be resubmitted in districts until approved.

Voters in the R-5 School District Orchard Farm will decide to continue the same total tax levy. The ballot asks for 1.68 dollars for the teacher fund and 0.24 dollars for the incidental fund, plus state permits and service rates to total 3.82 dollars, unchanged from this year.
