Health unit funding eyed by St. Charles County officials

Judge Charles Kinamore told about fifty residents that a tax levy may best finance a county health unit rather than use the county general fund. The discussion at Wesley Hall, First Methodist Church, was part of a meeting on unmet public health needs sponsored by the church group and moderated by Dr. E J Wipfler. He urged that $10 000 to $12 000 from the general fund is insufficient and ongoing increases are not feasible.
