The St Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's office faces unpaid rent for April for third floor space at the St Charles Civic Center. Auditor Francis Dickherber challenges a lease clause and seeks a Missouri Attorney General opinion, citing legal discrepancies in the contract and payment allocations to City Hall and Parking Revenue funds.
The city entered an option to buy a one acre site west of Fairgrounds Road near Boonstick and Interstate 7 from Mahon and Jolly for 72 000 dollars approved by city appraisers. Construction plans call for a 7000 square foot center with kitchen offices recreation and crafts space funded by CD funds and 1976 77 allocations. DMA Corporation may manage construction services and bids with contract possible by end of next week.
West Alton residents petition the Missouri State Highway Department to declare a no passing zone on U S Highway 67 between Misouri schaspot Rivers until repairs finish. The southbound lanes are closed for a bridge replacement and repaving with completion expected around July 1, 175 signatures gathered in two days.
