Soap Box Derby plans in Elm Street near Blackhorne School announce July 11 start at 1 30 pm with 20 county boys preparing Speedatera entries. Winners receive 500 dollar savings bond plus plaques trophies and awards for best built car and other categories. Official inspection will occur and local sponsors list four major events to be announced in coming days.
New Pike Mark Misscott reports a new staty record for northern pike near Mo berly. Frasca By Worth of St Louis caught a nine pound pike of 32 inches length with 15.5 inch girth authenticated by Heri Schwarta and Joe of the Department of Conservation. Missouri lakes like Tho mas Huth and Stockton stock pike and growth rates suggest the record may be surpassed soon.
