City Buys 73 Acre Parkland Near St Charles
The city of St Charles plans to spend 291500 to acquire a 73 acre tract at the southwest corner of Muegge Road and Country Club Head for a new park. Funding half from the CDC and BOR backing for the other half with a closing set for August 3 197. The Prongue family owns the land since 1942 and will sell to the city to keep it as open space with a year rent free on the property. A master plan will include trails and a lake as work begins to convert farmed areas back to grass and improve access.
