Ribbon Cutting Opens 1300 Acre Earth City Bard City Plan
A 1300 acre balanced community near Interstate 70 in St. Louis County was opened with a ribbon cutting led by Supervisor Lawrence K. Hayes. The master plan includes 180 acres offices and commercial, 288 residential, 76 industrial, 3 lakes, and 300 open space acres. Groundbreaking for the first phase offices and a 10008 square foot retail area was announced, with a goal of eight years to completion and eventual population of 85,000. Local officials and developers presented maps, tours, and speeches about the project funded entirely by private money.
