A TV character named Webby drew admiration during the social hour at the Howdy Neighbor Party event supporting the St Charles County Historical Society Museum Fund. The gathering occurred last Thursday night in the basement venue, attracting party members and local supporters.
The St Charles Junior High School P T A will host this year’s Founders Day Program at Elm Street School at 7 30 p m Monday night. Chairmen of curriculum study groups will discuss possible revision of courses.
Mel Hollirah of St Charles has been named manager of the new Schrock Fertilizer Plant to be built along the Burlington R R at Orchard Farm and expected to operate by spring. The plant will handle liquid blends and hydrous ammonia and is the companys 300th facility.
The First National Bank of St. Charles held its 100th annual stockholders meeting on Tuesday January 8 1963 selecting a new board: Dr August Westerfeld Dr Franc L McCluer Walter Borgelt Henry Rother Percy Schaefer Louis Wilke and Lee J White. The organization meeting January 21 elected officers Lee J White president Dr August Westerfeld vice president Walter Borgelt executive vice president Paul Knob Jauch cashier Glennon Debrecht Percy Schaefer Mae Hackmann Bonita Prost Roscoe Walter Thomas Boschert and Richard Hampton assistant cashiers. The bank reported record income for 1962 with total resources over 15 million.
A joint Labor Management Committee and Missouri Division of Employment Security statement announces a spring Area Skills Survey to update the metropolitan area’s general occupational structure. Leroy Schantz notes the survey will help develop the current workforce and guide education and training for future vocational needs, aiding attraction of new industry and school curriculum planning.
Cecil B Demille’s A1 rated full length film King of Kings will be shown free will offering style to churches schools and other organizations from April 7 through April 14. Colonel Erwin T Koch St Louis banker and chairman of the King of Kings Committee announced reservations through Col Koch at 3135 Edgar Avenue St Louis 17 Mo.
