Eagle Scout Stan Norton of Troop 754 was honored for six years of perfect attendance at a Court of Honor held at the First United Methodist Church.
St. Charles County moves from the present courthouse to a new administration building this weekend. The highway department and county nurses started transfers earlier in the week, with the prosecutor already settling in temporary offices. The court and clerk plan weekend moves, while some departments wait another week. A telephone pole removal is scheduled at the building front.
Coroner Joseph Mueller said the holiday period on St. Charles County highways produced no deaths or serious wrecks. He noted four deaths were predicted by national averages but was glad the forecast did not materialize as he began duties on January 1.

Purdy notes Home Federal backs more than 1 800 loans in the county worth about 32 million dollars. Witnesses include R A Fassell and Edward Meyer.
The Missouri State Highway Commission announces immediate reporting of accidental road spills by truckers or motorists to environmental control agencies to detect risks to wildlife and livestock. Maintenance Division Engineer W H Dill asks district engineers to notify the Water Pollution Board promptly about spills hazardous to fish wildlife livestock or agriculture. Normal radiator spillages will not be reported and actions after notification may occur without departmental personnel.
