Petition Drive Seeks Fero-Mill Tax Hike in St Charles
St Charles County Clerk Joe Haake received petitions from Bigelli of the Library Board urging a fero-mill tax increase to fund five years of system wide improvements. About 3,800 signees seek to place the measure on the April ballot at 20 cents per $100 of assessed value. Under Missouri law petitions must total at least five percent of votes cast in the last election. Haake will verify that at least 2,440 registered voters signed.
