Name Is Needed Environmental Group To Meet Thursday
The St Charles County environmental group plans its second session this Thursday at the courthouse. Temporary chair Grace Nichols says the first meeting drew strong support and urges continued community backing. Attendees may propose a name for the county group. Jane Perna will report on by-laws and the constitution committee. Guest speaker Harry Shelton Jr. chairs the Solid Waste Committee of the Coalition for the Environment. Sunset Neighbors Extension Club meets Tuesday at 11 am at Mrs. Roy Spears Jr.’s home for antiquing and vinyl sewing lessons. January luncheon included a Mother-in-Law House gathering and yearbook talks, with a tour of South Main Street shops.

Harris PTA program on conservation at February meeting
The Willie Harris PTA will host a February meeting starting at 7 30 p m featuring a soil and air conservation program by Les Volmert USDA conservation specialist. The event will also recognize Pack 763 Troop 763 and Explorer Post leaders and boys with a Boy Scout program. Baby-sitting for children in third grade and younger will be provided.
