Stone Row of St Charles Preserves a Historic Stone Row
Historical notes on St Charles Missouri from 1821 to 1826 describe the Stone Row built by Thomas Lindsey on South Main Street. The hand cut Burlington stone shows tool marks, without mortar, with sunken door and window details. Lindsey founded the First Presbyterian Church in St Charles and left his estate to Presbyterian groups and the American Bible Society. The Stone Row remains a landmark as other structures age and decay.
