Construction at Sions Plant in St Charles County speeds up with 200 workers placing steel for a 210 foot main building, 25 percent of frame up by July end. A 1800 foot canal to carry water from Alcon Lake is forming, with a 160 foot wide cross section and 25 to 40 foot dikes. Concrete pours advance for turbine housing and coal handling, pile driving continues, and substation work begins as first unit expected in spring.
