Record Auction Brings High Prices At St Charles Fair

At the St Charles County Fair the Grand Champion 1050 lb steer owned by Richard Holirah from St Charles sold for 2.02 per pound setting a near record price. Hedres and Hafler bought the Reserve Grand Champion and Bettendorf Stores led on the Reserve Grand with 970 lb steer total 582.00. National Food Stores took the Champion Shorthorn at 56 cents per pound weighing 95 lbs for 540.40. A total of 35 925 pounds of beef sold for 15 514.82 with 42 head auctioned across multiple buyers including Sechnarre of Foristell Becker of Augusta and Hedges and Hefer.

The St. Charles County Construction Industries Association is forming to inform the region about zoning, building codes, legislation and other construction trades issues. The first organizational meeting was July 6 at Three Flags restaurant.

Federal grant funds Missouri county urbanization plan

A Missouri county will receive a federal grant of 380 900 and state funds to support a 17 year program aimed at rapid urbanization of rural areas. The plan requires 30 580 first year cost with two thirds covered by federal funds and local cash of 7 625 plus 2528 in existing services. The two programs total 190 500 with 7625 county cash. The study, led by Administrative Services Section and East-West Gateway Council, will last two years and examine services, land use, zoning, mapping, data processing, and implementation to improve information flow.

Ozark Air Lines Names Hal Salfen Vice President Marketing

Harold J. Hal Salfen, formerly assistant vice-president marketing and public relations since January 1966, is named vice-president marketing for Ozark Air Lines. He will report to the president and oversee sales functions and marketing programs. Salfen is from O Fallon Missouri with a background in aviation sales and related roles.

Lanier Fellowship Seeks Photographers for Meeting Coverage
