An article argues vaccination with hog cholera serum as the only safe method to prevent spread. The T J Cash Carnival Co visited Saco for three days bringing a large show with a Merry-Go-Round, a San Francisco Theatre act, and many attractions. Crowds enjoyed the performances, including the fat woman, snake charmer, and moving pictures, while the boys bought Bow Wows like hot cakes.
Alfalfa Products Company of Great Falls will relocate its headquarters to Billings and expand. Manager Cabot Thomas travels to Kansas City to oversee construction of three new portable mills designed by Dr. W X Sudduth. The mills will grind alfalfa for Yellowstone Valley farmers. The alfalfa meal mixed with beet sugar syrup and ground grain forms a balanced stock ration.
The coming Congress faces requests to boost appropriations for battleships and a larger army to defend the coast. The Mexican trouble underscored military weakness, with only 33 000 soldiers immediately available in the United States, though National Guard units can be mobilized.

Theodore Diset, age something, died after slipping into a deep Dooley well while seated on a bucket. Breen the owner and Diset both faced gas. Breen survived in critical condition. Diset was brought to the surface but died. his body shipped to Milton Wisconsin for funeral services conducted by Rev. Fyetheim. The community mourns the loss of the young man as his family faces a sad homecoming.
Surveyor General Jerome G Locke reports to the general land office in Washington the final survey of twenty townships in Valley county. It is expected the survey will be accepted within sixty days and land opened for filing. The first group was surveyed in 1917 and notes were mislaid during transfer. Approved surveys include 5000 acres in MusseIshell County Township 8 north range 28 east with unknown spelling and Skeptic notes. 28000 acres in Park County Township 7 south range 8 east. 4000 acres in Fergus County Township 39 north range 13 east. 3000 acres in Fergus County Township 18 north range 11 east. 2000 acres in Chouteau County Township 21 north range 11 east.
The U S land office registers that cancellation of land claim would harm an innocent party while absolving the purchaser of fault. The decision notes the 1902 desert claim and 1912 adverse proceedings, but recognizes the transfer to a Roberts map and treats the register’s certificate as negotiable, recommending dismissal of the contest.
Roxie Orris of Cass Carnival Co claimed Minnesota Montana and Dakota glory as a champion. Archie Easton defeated Orris in a three fall match at the carnival tent near Luco after twenty minute bouts. Easton proved a versatile athlete beyond baseball.

Threshers’ music fills the air as busy times continue. Borgan and Munford traveled to Megan’s Sunday evening. Clair Duncan shipped horses to the Missouri River region last week. Questions about homestead life with a railroad nearby. R Barr and Miss Wigly rode Sunday. No more Wild West for us. The Soo is putting up flakes rapidly. Mr. and Mrs. Burke and family from Hinsdale visited Sunday. A housecleaning streak runs through the week. Frank and Pim Tighe land left for Dakota for the winter. Miss Ebbr-Dahlquist attended teachers’ exams in Glasgow. Glasgow insurers checked on past week’s damage. Local builders erect new schools and classes start September 15. A Lassie helps kill snakes with candy. Dr. Cockrel of Hinsdale called on Albert Nelson Wednesday. Mrs. Nelson ill and Ben Olson kicked by a horse. both recovering. New school year brings downhearted youths but growth resumes as sleep needs rise.
R E Devney, a dentist from Malta, will be in Saco on Wednesday the first and Thursday the seventeenth and eighteenth of September.
