Prominent Saco Woman Dies at Glasgow Hospital

Frances Forester wife of Joseph H Forester of Saco died of scarlet fever at Deacon Ness hospital Glasgow on Tuesday May 17 following the birth of her baby on May 6. Born August 27 1895 in Olivet Michigan she grew up there and later moved to Saco to marry in 1918. She leaves her husband a baby daughter her father F W Brownson Olivet Michigan two sisters in Michigan and Ohio and many friends. Eastern Star will assist with last rites.

Saco to Open New High School Next Fall Under New Contract

Workmen busy on the Saco school district high school project expect completion by next fall. The contract totals over 154,700 dollars, with material and labor savings reducing costs from a year ago by about 75,000 dollars. Community quotas for boys camp approved at Havre site

The Farm Bureau Executive Board sets community quotas for a boys camp at the Kae riment Station grounds near Havre from July 14 to 93. Each boy’s cost is 10 and communities must appoint project leaders and raise funds. Unorganized areas may still participate with applications sent to Norman W. Hicks.

Commerce department to publish regular retail price levels

Washington reports a Friday conference between Secretary Hoover and retailers from across the country agreed to publish retail price levels for standard commodities at regular intervals. Retailers will supply production costs and expenses to help government agencies compare with wholesale cuts and verify price movements. Hoover noted that prices had not fallen as wholesale reductions would suggest.
