Martin of Washington recounts from 1912 onward how building a 12 by 20 foot silo and filling it with crops like oats and other forages reduced losses, increased milk fat per cow from 200 pounds in 1909 to 330 in 1915 and over 400 by 1920, and enabled 15 cows to yield a calf each year. Bowdoin Man Killed Near Matador Montana

S. M. McSpadden water inspector for the Great Northern was killed near Matador Montana Monday evening by No 4. The crew says the speedier jumped the track and McSpadden lay between the rails before it could be stopped. The body was recovered.

Plain Folks Show Delights Saco Crowd by Local Talent

The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs presented a four act comedy titled Plain Folks at Malta on March 2. Leo Wagoner organized directed and authored the piece with local scenery and a strong musical program enhancing a professional atmosphere. The cast received high praise for fitting their roles and delivering a satisfying town show with plans for more dates eastward.

County Agent Nor ling of McLean County North Dakota reports a grasshopper extermination campaign saved 54068350 dollars at a cost of 6614 cents per quarter section for gopher poison. Grasshopper control saved 15403400 dollars with a total cost of 9650.50 dollars. 97.2 percent of farmers favored continuing gopher control next year.
