Lewistown reports Elk Basin company brings in what is believed to be the largest Cat Creek oil well, Franz No. 5, tapping 40 feet to oil and squirting 100 feet high. Location is section 14 15 29 on the Wildschulz tract. six wells on the Wildschutz farm, two owned by Midnorthern Company. Production not yet estimated, but expected to reach thousands of barrels with lush output.

Death of Infant Vernon Pewanka Remains Mourned
Mr and Mrs Wm Pewanka mourn the death of their infant son Vernon William Pewanka who died Sunday January 20 after illness with pneumonia. He would have been two on February 8. Services were conducted at the house by Rev Hawk of Snco with music by several local women. A large turnout of friends offered sympathy in Bowdoin Beacon.
