Editors Slate Talk To La. Forestry Association Board

Culture Guild Opens New Year With Luncheon Meeting

The Culture Guild began its club year on Tuesday September 3 1958 with a luncheon at the home of Mrs H D Burkhalter. Hostesses included Mesd Mrs Henry Roane Mrs O W Brown and others. A business meeting followed with reports and a Cancer Drive certificate presented by Mrs J M Armstrong Jr. The program titled Widerting Horizons featured a Parliamentary Briefs Q A session.

Royal welcome planned for 25th Home Demonstration meeting

About 1400 women in Agricultural Extension will assemble in New Orleans in October for the National Home Demonstration Agents Association annual meeting. Speakers include C. M. Ferguson and H. C. Social Welfare Group to Meet in Baton Rouge in September

The Louisiana Conference of Social Welfare schedules fall regional meetings in Baton Rouge and other cities on September 10 and 11. Co sponsored by the White House Conference Advisory Committee and the Louisiana Organization for State Legislation, the events will develop programs from the 1960 White House Conference report on Children and Youth.

Davis Family Reunion Held at Fellowship Church Dubai

The first David family reunion was held Saturday at Fellowship Church in Dubai with plans for an annual event. The Davises migrated to Louisiana from Selma Alabama area in late 1899. One of nine children of the original settlers, Mrs Jattie David Lester of West Monroe turns 83 on September 7 and attended along with many relatives.
